Well, if there's a goat of Christmas for today, it's the yin to Alta's yang - June.
June, aka Alpine Juniper, is unfailingly sweet. Even though she's had kids, she never loses her temper. Anything you throw at her, she accepts like a goat monk. She'll be a baby goat jungle gym and breathe through it without flipping the babies off of her like flapjacks the way the other adults do.
June is so well trained to the milk stand that the minute I open the gate, she beelines straight over and jumps up. She knows her job and does it without complaint or drama. Other goats will try to sneak extra grain, run off to browse the weeds, or stomp to show their attitude - June knows why she's there and waits patiently for grain and milking.
Because June makes my life so easy, I can sometimes forget to give her extra attention. The squeaky wheels get greased while she just puts her head down and goats around.
